Quickie Update
What? How can this be?
I simply wanted a quiet comfortable place to rest for a couple of days, and the only criteria was that it had good wifi so I can do some writing. US$28 a night for a single twin bed seemed acceptable so I booked for 2 nights. It was 3 miles off my intended route from Kilkivan to Gympie, but, for the price, I didn’t mind.
I arrived at the Staple House Bed and Breakfast in Woolooga around mid-afternoon. Tom, the proprietor, greeted me and took me to what looked like the back garden house.
I expected to be in a small room with a twin bed– because that’s what I booked. Then– here comes the big surprise!
He said no one else would be here for the 2 days I booked. He said I had full use of the house– living room, kitchen, bathroom, all to myself. I could even use the queen bed if I wanted (but I didn’t). Or I could choose any of the 9 twin beds to sleep in. And since this was a bed and breakfast, there were ham, sausages, and eggs in the fridge, along with milk, bread, juice, and more. I could cook them any time of the day, not just in the morning.
I had a good dinner that night, as I used what was in my food kit, along with the ingredients provided at the place.
I actually felt bad getting so much for paying so little.
But I am thankful.

Such a great word: serendipity. I guess life can be like that if we have eyes to see.
